The Radical Firearms 7.5-inch AR pistol in 5.56 is a blast to shoot and good for anyone who is looking to get into the AR pistol world without spending an arm and a leg. It comes with a 7.5-inch 4140 Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel with a 1:7 twist rate chambered in 5.56 and its finished in a Melonite finish. The barrel has a 1/2×28 thread with a standard A2 flash hider. The upper and lower are made from forged 7075 T6 aluminum. With a standard dust cover and a forward assist. It has a free floating 7-inch M-Lok thin rail and ambidextrous safety and, the .750 low profile gas block matched with a carbine length gas rod I can’t tell what kind of bolt they are using but it’s a full auto bolt with a nice weight to it.
When I opened the box, it came in all there was the gun a steel 30 round mag and a USB drive with all of the information on it. So, I grabbed some old sights I had laying around in a box and some ammo and rain out and tried it. I ran about 350 rounds threw it and ran great right out of the box. I had no problems with any standard ammo I threw at it. It didn’t like some brands of frangible ammo I shot. But other than that, I love this gun. Seeing as I don’t leave anything alone, I look forward to changing things and seeing how they work with it and trying to get it to what I want it to look like. I will keep you informed of any problems I run across and let you know what I did to fix them or what I had to change to get it to work. So cheek back soon for part two of my radical gun customization story.
